The Vintage Airstream Campaign, lenlee represents 2010 self promotion

This is a cool and quirky piece that Foils & Dies is super excited to have been a part of. lenlee is a photographer rep who took her love for the iconic silver airstream trailers and tasked each of the photographers to shoot their own vintage airstream story. Ian Nordeck worked with lenlee and her group to bring each of their unique interpretations together into a cohesive campaign and brought it all to us.

We letterpressed the wrap and information card with 2 colors on a natural white stock with a super heavy bite to get a nice rich impression. The wrap is die cut to fold around and contain the four sets of postcards and the air freshener. lenlee’s contact card was then diecut in the back of the wrap.

Wendi Nordeck, one of the photographers of the campaign, has taken some phenomenal photos of the finished promotion.

Ian was our cohort in creation and on press with us for the entire process. He took some great photos of all the small details and the job as it was on press.

These photographers are phenomenal and the work they’ve done for the vintage airstream campaign is definitely something you’ll want to check out – just click on their names below

lenlee also posted this great video of the kit being opened on her blog. Keep up to date with everything her and her photographers are up to by checking it out.

The invitation design has a very art deco flair, perfect for the couple, as they got married at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was a perfect set for capturing details, as in the complex pattern in the wings of the dragonfly and the fine lines of the flourishes.

We letterpressed the invitation and response card on thick 100% cotton letterpress paper in chocolate brown to get a nice bite, foil stamped their return address on red envelopes, and letterpressed their logo on bags which held everything inside the outer envelopes.

Designed by and for 3 Roads Media these cards, printed on Mohawk Renewal Cover, are double sided 3 color letterpress wonders. The pattern wraps around the front and the back to create continual interest and kinetic movement. Each card is a unique piece of art as the mottled pattern of the ink changes with every swipe of the roller over the die. We also custom die cut these cards with three-rounded corners, leaving one unscathed, to echo the geometric pattern of the print. A really great piece to have run and experimented with good ol’ ink on paper.

We printed the most recent run on a variety of shades from French Paper’s Pop Tone, on chip board, and Mohawk Renewal, using three press runs of white, black and red.

Introducing students and designers to letterpress is always one of our favorite things to do, because we love what we do. We hope they all enjoyed the experience and look forward to seeing some of their work run through the presses soon!
